About
Bhargav Sundara Rajan is a Hardware Research Engineer who has been affected by Covid-19 job cuts and is currently seeking his next challenge. He has a diverse range of skills and experience in product management, product development, manufacturing, project management, R&D, hardware testing, design, and development of electronic prototypes. Bhargav has also demonstrated his creativity as a graphic designer with skills in digital art, photo manipulation, and illustrations. His design portfolio can be found at https://bhargavsrajan.artstation.com/. Currently, Bhargav works as a Research Associate at the Rehabilitation Research Institute of Singapore, a multi-disciplinary institute dedicated to innovation in robotics to aid patients suffering from neurological conditions. He is involved in design discussions, component selection, project deadlines, and project roadmap of the Lower Limb Exoskeleton project for stroke patients. Bhargav designed a custom Arduino Mega shield for a motor drive system as part of the exoskeleton project, which was handled remotely due to Covid-19 restrictions. In his previous role as a Hardware Product Manager at Ray IoT Solutions, Bhargav was the hardware lead for ‘raybaby’, an AI-driven non-contact breathing and sleep monitoring device for infants. He solved design flaws missed by his predecessor through experimentation and rapid prototyping to improve the efficiency of the product. Bhargav also improved the quality of video and audio recorded by the device, and improved the user experience of the ‘raybaby’ mobile application. He developed multiple experimental rigs for testing radar functionality in breathing and sleep monitoring, testing camera output, and microphone audio recording. Bhargav defined Standard Operating Procedures for manufacturing of the device and defined standard guidelines for testing, QA, and troubleshooting for both hardware and software teams. Bhargav’s experience also includes working as an R&D Hardware Intern at Lemnis Technologies, an Entrepreneur First funded VR startup company that uses AI to prevent VR sickness and increase the duration of VR usage. He was the hardware R&D lead for the first iteration of Project Verifocal that won the 2019 CES Innovation Award. Bhargav designed and developed the circuitry inside a novel VR headset that dynamically adjusts the optics based on eye tracking and user’s point of focus. He calibrated the control algorithm to move the lenses based on the response of the eye tracking algorithm and programmed both microcontrollers to communicate with each other and control both motors that move the lenses based on eye tracking data.
